Common Questions
How does Marine Mat compare to Seadek or Gatorstep?

While they are all premium foam floorings, MarineMat stands out because of its superior durability and unique installation options. SeaDek relies heavily on its brand name and standard peel-and-stick, while GatorStep focuses on loud, printed graphics. MarineMat strikes the perfect balance: it offers incredible structural durability, laser-precise routing, and patented options like the Snap-It system (removable snap-in mats) that other brands simply can’t match.

Unlike other brands on the market, MarineMat is specifically engineered to stay remarkably comfortable underfoot, even on those blistering summer days at the lake. Because it’s made of advanced closed-cell foam, it acts as a heat barrier rather than absorbing it like bare fiberglass or aluminum. If you want a boat floor that you can comfortably walk on barefoot all afternoon without burning your toes, MarineMat outperforms the competition.

We don’t just sell this product—we live it. We have had MarineMat on our own personal boat for over 5 years now, and it still looks incredible, holds strong, and isn’t anywhere close to needing a repair. As certified installers for over 5 years, we have never had to replace a single customer’s floor due to it wearing out or reaching the end of its life. When you invest in MarineMat, you are getting a product built to handle years of heavy lake use.

Yes. MarineMat uses an incredibly strong, high-grade adhesive designed to stay locked down through all the swimming, tubing, and boarding you can throw at it. If you ever do decide to change it up or sell the boat, it can be completely removed to reveal the original fiberglass underneath. Keep in mind that the removal process will destroy the old foam mat, but your boat’s deck can be cleaned up perfectly. It doesn’t have to be permanent!

Pre-made or “universal” DIY kits might look tempting online, but they never deliver that premium, factory-finished look. No two boat decks are exactly alike, and pre-made sheets often leave awkward gaps, cover up important deck drains, or look messy. Attempting to cut dense, dual-layer foam by hand with a razor blade usually results in jagged edges. Our digital scanning and CNC laser-cutting ensure your mat fits flawlessly around every single hinge and hatch on your specific boat.

The entire process generally takes 3 to 6 weeks from the moment we provide your initial bid to the final physical installation. Interestingly, the physical install only takes a few hours—the part of the process that takes the longest is usually the custom design phase and the time it takes for customers to decide on colors and patterns! Once you finalize your design choices, we get to work fabrication-wise to get you back out on the water as quickly as possible.

Upgrade Your Deck

Custom Marine Mat flooring isn’t just about looks. It’s about comfort, durability, and getting it done right the first time.
